Sunday Afternoon Blues with Jeremiah Williams

October 16th, 2011 No comments

It’s time for another edition of “Sunday Afternoon Blues“, a regular blog posting that I started a few weeks ago.

This one is from YouTube user “Jerimah02740” and is well worth a listen – all the way to the end.

Jeremiah has several tasteful licks and phrasing combinations throughout. Enjoy!

This Sunday Afternoon Blues is Good for You

Relax. It’s Sunday afternoon.

Sleep in, read the newspaper, watch football games, grill some burgers, lay on the couch and crack open a few cold ones…

That’s what Sunday afternoon is all about!

Along with a little SUNDAY AFTERNOON BLUES of course…

Special thanks to YouTube user “HaroldBelfast” for this weeks inspiration.

Mellow Sunday blues… with my friend’s dog getting in on the action! This is how I play a blues guitar solo when I’m in a mellow mood.

My custom strat that I built years ago… warmouth neck, strat body, Duncan JB humbuckers, running through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, with a Boss Loop Station and a Tube Screamer (for just a lil extra kick). I had to keep it quiet so the neighbors didn’t have a fit, so the amp’s running on about 1.

Harold…I could sit on the porch and listed to you all afternoon!

Sunday Afternoon Blues

It’s Sunday afternoon…a lazy kind of Sunday afternoon…and I was searching the web for a lazy kind of Sunday afternoon Blues…

Look what I found: Fabian Mitchell and Abraham Devar playing “Sunday Afternoon Blues” in C# minor.

The piece is played totally impromptu.

Fabian Mitchell plays an Ibanez steel string acoustic guitar and Abraham Devar plays the six string, classical Yamaha guitar.

This promotional video is brought to you by Abraham Devar for Music College International and Abraham Devar’s Academy for Music and Song.

Maybe not everyone’s interpretation of “Sunday Afternoon Blues” but I sure enjoyed it!

And I am really glad they have a “Distance Learning” program!
